Managing Resource Folders

In Botium, media resources are used to carry out various types of testing. When running voice tests, for example, we need to tell Botium the base folder where it will look up and place all audio files for the test set. To do this, we use media resources and the Botium file browser.

File Browser

Botium Tools & Settings > Test Sets > File Browser

Use the File Browser in each Test Set to do typical file system manipulation tasks like:

  • create or rename folders
  • move folders and files
  • delete folders and files

Warning: There is nothing like a Recycle Bin here, so use the file browser feature with caution.

Media Resources

Botium Tools & Settings > Test Sets > Configuration > Media Resources

Use the Media Resources tab in Test Set Configuration to specify folders where Botium will look up and place audio files or attachment files for a particular test set.

Note: We are talking about server-side folders here, not folders from your workstation (unless you are running Botium on your workstation of course).

Tip: We suggest creating a meaningful folder structure for your test sets. Depending on your use case, you can for example have a structure by test set language like:
Botium
    >testsets
        >language1
            >testset1
            >testset2
        >language2
            >testset1
