Getting started with Voice App Testing

Start here if you would like to begin with Voice App Testing. Botium supports all relevant Conversational AI technologies available, and upcoming technologies are added to the platform within weeks.

There are more than 30 different Botium Connectors available right now, including adaptable generic connectors for custom Conversational AI APIs.

Voice Testing Support

Voice Testing is supported for all technologies that can:

  • either receive an audio stream
  • respond with an audio stream
  • or both

First Steps with Voice Testing

  1. Create a New Bot Connection: If you haven’t already done so, connect Botium to your Voice Bot. Follow the steps here to create a new connection.
  2. Optional - Test Voice Connection with Live Chat: To test if the voice connection with the chatbot is working, you can Use a Live Chat to Verify Bot Connection
  3. Create a Voice Test Set: In Botium, there is nothing special about a test set for voice testing compared to a test set for usual text-based testing. You can even mix voice test cases with text test cases in one Test Set. Follow the steps here to create a new test set.
  4. Specify Resource Folder: Specify the folder in Botium where it will look up and place all audio files for the Test Set. See Media Resources for help with creating a folder.
  5. Prepare Audio Samples: Prepare or record the audio samples you will use for testing. Follow the steps here to prepare audio samples using one of the three options provided.
  6. Add Test Cases to Your Test Set: A test case is a single, multi-step conversation with your chatbot, which should respond in a way we expect it. Follow the steps here to add some test cases
  7. Run Voice Test Session: There is nothing special about running a voice test session in Botium. It is the same as running any other test set. Simply pick which type of testing you would like to run from the Test Suite, and follow the steps to run your test session.
  8. Add Voice Effects to Simulate Real-Life Scenarios: Now that you have successfully run your first test session, it's time to simulate some real-life scenarios by adding voice effects to your recordings. Follow the steps here to add voice effects to your audio samples.
