To begin testing you will need to connect to your chatbot technology. Here you will
find the steps to help you do just that.
There are more than 49 different Botium Connectors available right now, including several
adaptable generic connectors for custom Conversational AI APIs.
Note: Voice Testing is supported for any chatbot
technology that can receive an audio stream, respond with an audio stream, or handle
both receiving and responding with an audio stream. This means that as long as the
technology can manage audio streams in any of these ways, it is compatible with
Voice Testing.
To create a new bot connection, do the following:
-
Navigate Using the Left Pane: On the left navigation pane, head to
Botium Tools & Settings > Chatbot Connections
-
Create new Chatbot: Open the 'Create new Chatbot' drawer at the top of
the screen.
-
Register Chatbot: Enter "First Steps Chatbot" in the Register
Chatbot field. Then click the + button to register your chatbot
name.
-
Connector/Chatbot Technology: Use the drop-down menu provided to choose
the connector technology that your bot is using. In this example we are
connecting to the Botium Sample Chatbot (Echo). This is a demo chatbot
you can use for exploring Botium and features.
-
Configure Access to the Chosen Technology: While connecting to Botium
Sample Chatbot (Echo) doesn’t require further configuration, additional
settings may be required depending on the selected technology, such as endpoint
addresses, usernames, secrets, and more. You can get an overview and more
details for each available technology here.
Note: You must enter all required information
for your chosen connector in order for the connector to work successfully.
The required information will be different depending on your chose
technology.
-
Check Connectivity: At this point you should have access to your
connector. To test connectivity you can click the SAY HELLO (CHECK
CONNECTIVITY) button to check availability of the chatbot. Botium will
send a Hello message to the chatbot and expect some kind of welcome
response back.
Tip: As we are using the Botium Sample
Chatbot (Echo) for this example setup, it is available of course,
but in other cases you can assert the technical correctness of the
configuration to troubleshoot any issues with connectivity.
Result: If successful you will see a response from the bot that
will look something like this:
-
Save: Close the window and click the SAVE button
to complete the registration of your chatbot.
Results:
-
Overview: Once you have registered your bot you will be taken to
the Chatbot's Overview section. If at any time you wish to edit
the configuration or start a live conversation with your bot, you can do
so from here - Botium Tools & Settings > Chatbot Connections
> Your Chatbot Connection >
-
Find Chatbot Record: You can now navigate to the chatbot record by
using the filter in the Chatbot Connections list and clicking on the record:
Botium Tools & Settings > Chatbot Connections >
